Toronto ON — It was one year ago today that we last peeked in on Our Lady Peace who have been holed up in a bedroom rehearsing for their upcoming shows At the time, they were just repeating “that the world’s a subway, subway” over and over again. In honour of that special day, we figured it would be a good time to peek in on them again and we can now confirm they are still just practicing those lines.
‘That the worlds a subway, subway
That the worlds a subway, subway I
That the worlds a subway, subway
That the worlds a subway, subway iiiiiiiiiiiiii
That the worlds a subway, subway’…..
We have to admit that the quality in which they belted it out this time was far superior to one year ago so the practice is definitely paying off.
As you may remember, the previous year was spent practicing “doesn’t any, any any” over and over and over which leads us to believe that they are trying to perfect their classic hit song, Superman’s Dead. The pandemic has not been kind to artists from a performing standpoint but from a rehearsal standpoint, they are lucky to be able to really get down their lyrics to give the fans a performance they deserve.
While it doesn’t seem like that long ago, it was actually 10 years ago that they spent months singing “why-ee-I-ee-I-ee, yeah huh yeah.” The logical conclusion we can draw from their world’s a subway repetition is that they have “Superman’s Dead’ down pat in its entirety.
By the end of this year, it is hoped that they can begin on ‘Clumsy’ and “Shrug it off, shrug it off, shrug it off.”
