Toronto ON — He started off slow when it comes to learning all of this technology stuff but after mastering a few things such as a Blackberry, email, and most recently a Roku remote, Doug Ford has built up enough confidence to let his government shine. Ontario needs some sort of vaccine passport app and who better to do it than his people. Why contract out a job like everyone else has when you have the know-how right inside your own government?
We know what you’re thinking, his eyes are bigger than his stomach when it comes to these types of initiatives. We had the gas station stickers but how were they supposed to know you had to follow the law? Then there was the license plate debacle but again, people sleep at night, why would you need to be able to see a license plate at night.
The vaccine app is slightly less advanced than those things. You have a little bar code and you shine the light on and it and it says whether you’re vaccinated or not. Simple. Mcdonald’s has been using these for deals on Egg McMuffins for years. Just because Quebec paid an outside company to do theirs doesn’t mean Ontario has to follow their incompetence.
What Ontario needs to do is just take their time on the app, make sure they work out all the kinks, and deliver an Ontario-made product that we can all be proud of. Experts say it should only take about four months and we could have it up and running.
And… the Ford government has just announced they can do it in 6 weeks. Here we go…
