BURBANK CALIFORNIA — Controversy has been following Jeopardy all week after the decision to allow Dr. Oz to guest host the long-running show. Originally fans weren’t happy that Jeopardy would allow a doctor who peddles sketchy, unscientific medical remedies to take over for the great Alex Trebek but they grew even angrier after he hosted Thursday’s entire show with a giant heap of belly fat sitting on his podium.
Dr. Oz promised the three contestants that the giant pile of belly fat would dwindle down to nothing by the end of the show if they could make it to Final Jeopardy without consuming white rice or sugar.
By the beginning of the Double Jeopardy round, the belly fat pile was indeed noticeably smaller but many just attributed it to the warm studio lights melting it and had nothing to do with any of the doctors remedies.
Things took an even weirder turn during the think music in Final Jeopardy when Dr. Oz lit the belly fat on fire and you can see his lips saying burn baby burn. True to his word though, the belly fat was gone.
“These theatrics made his daytime show popular but goes against everything that Jeopardy stands for. Alex would never bring body fat on the show and I doubt he even knew where to find any,” one fan commented on the show’s Facebook page.
Dr Oz wraps the week up on Friday before hosting for one more week where he promises to show how you some soup recipes guaranteed to cure you of Coronavirus. Check your local listings for show times.
