Toronto ON — Finishing off some last minute training, the Ministry of Labour is set to release their lab created enforcement officers out into the field. This was not expected to happen until 2022 but due to a mass enforcement blitz of the big box stores, they were forced to rush ahead with the project. These officers are still a little rough around the edges because of the rushed training but they are fierce and very eager to do their job. They will begin with the Walmarts to let off some of their aggressive steam before being subjected to the rigors of a Costco. This should alleviate some of the worries of their handlers who were a little hesitant to send out these men and women at such an early stage of their development. They have been trained to scope out people not wearing masks, not staying 6ft apart, watching how many customers enter the store and to make sure stores follow all of the safety protocols. They officers are not yet trained on following the arrows in the aisle because it’s such as sophisticated concept that they were saving it for last. The ministry will keep an eye on their success of this program and if it appears to work out, you can expect more in the future especially if this pandemic drags on longer than a year from now.
