STRATFORD ON — Checking her phone for the 13th time today, Claudia McGurn was thrilled to see that her hand cream package was out for delivery and expected the arrival time was by 8 PM tonight. After a delay in Mississauga for two days, she was ecstatic yesterday when it finally said departing Mississauga and that it was en route to its destination. For thirteen more straight hours, she saw the same exact words sprawled about her screen, refresh after refresh. “Maybe I’ll stay up until 11 tonight to see if it changes”, she told her husband who she didn’t realize was already sleeping. After a partial night’s rest, she saw the words she had been waiting for, ‘ARRIVAL SCAN’. Clearly those words aren’t as good as out for delivery but any change is a good change when it comes to tracking your shipments. By the time she got ready for the day, she heard the knock on the door and rushed downstairs to see it sitting on her porch. Don’t get me wrong, she was excited about the hand cream but out of habit checked to see if says delivered, and to her chagrin, it was. An hour later she checked again and it still says delivered. As good as the hand cream was, it just doesn’t satisfy that need for a shipment update. ” It’s just bittersweet”, she whispered.
