Resting against her desk, fourth grade teacher Mrs. Harris took a breather after standing through the entire national anthem. She stood proud with her hands by her side throughout the entire song with only some slight knee-trembling as she stood on guard for thee. The Ontario government has really been increasing the workload in the midst of a pandemic forcing some teachers to be “June-tired” by the end of September. Mrs. Harris is “3:30 tired” by 9:05 thanks to the morning announcements coming right after the national anthem. Often the heavy panting after the anthem drowns out the day’s announcements leaving her not only tired but grossly uninformed on the days events. Luckily recess is just around the corner so that she can compose herself before the French teacher can take over until lunch break.
3:07 PM UPDATE: : “Almost there,” whispers Mrs. Harris
